The Sterling Natural Resource Center (SNRC) recently secured $1.49 million in funding from the California Natural Resources Agency for the development of a 6-acre environmentally friendly demonstration garden that will also serve as new community outdoor space.

On October 20, more than 300 local officials and community members joined East Valley Water District (EVWD) to celebrate the groundbreaking of the Sterling Natural Resource Center (SNRC), a state-of-the-art wastewater treatment facility and community center in Highland, Calif.

EVWD Receives Grant Award for New Hydroelectric System

Constantly looking for ways to maximize District operations and use resources efficiently, EVWD installed a hydroelectric generation system that will convert energy from moving water into renewable electricity. Southern California Edison (SCE) presented the District with a $231,650 grant award for its efforts in supporting distributed energy resources through the Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP).

EVWD Board Approves Selection of SNRC Design-Build Partner

East Valley Water District’s Board of Directors approved Balfour Beatty / Arcadis as the design-build partner to lead the design and construction of the Sterling Natural Resource Center (SNRC), located on the east side of Del Rosa Drive, at the July 25 regular meeting.
